About Us

Friends since 1999, Laura Heyden (originally Lor-Hy Goldens) and Carol Johnson put our mutual love of dogs into Windy Ridge Goldens.  Our goal was to raise and train dogs which embodied the true spirit of the Golden Retriever breed, not forgetting what they were originally bred for, a field dog.  Windy Ridge Goldens are first and foremost companions, whose health and longevity are paramount.  All breeding dogs are screened for the common health issues that plague the Golden Retriever breed; hips, elbows, heart and eyes.
